About Title Pie

Title Pie is a small side project built for fun. It is not a business, it is not intended to make money, and it mostly exists because arguing about contenders is more entertaining when you force yourself to put actual percentages on the board.

The idea was inspired by The Athletic NBA Daily Podcast episode from Wednesday, March 25, 2026, titled "The NBA Contender Pie". That episode took a loose, opinionated basketball conversation and gave it structure, which felt like the perfect excuse to turn the concept into a simple little app.

The format here is intentionally lightweight: everyone gets 100 points, everyone reveals their own biases, and the aggregate ends up telling a slightly different story than any one person would on their own. Some pies are careful, some are unhinged, and that is more or less the whole point.

Title Pie is an independent fan-made project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to The Athletic in any way. It is also not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the NBA in any way.

If nothing else, it is a nicer way to keep score of takes that would otherwise disappear into group chats, podcast reactions, and late-night “hear me out” conversations.
